It's one of the two things I inherited from my grandmother - the other is a very granny style undershirt. The figurine is actually a ceramic bottle that once contained a lotion, manufactured by Avon, which was really big in the 70's. She always sat on my Oma's dressing table in the bedroom. I stayed with my Oma (and aunt and cousin) very often, always sleeping in the empty half of her bed. That used to be her husbands side, my grandfather. Whom I never met because he didn't quite make WWII. I was always fascinated by the Avon girl and I am very happy that today she's with me - both, the doll and, in seeing her, my grandmother. |
